Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the terminological system of Turkish lexicography: the core – highly specialized Turkish lexicographic terminology and the periphery – commonly used terms used in the context of the object of lexicography. The research was carried out on the material of modern Turkish scientific works, which highlight both theoretical and practical lexicographic problems that are gaining special importance in the context of modern trends (globalization, integration, digitalization, informatization, automation) and new challenges of the time (creation of new generation dictionaries, taking into account new user requests, updating registers). The focus is on lexical-semantic processes, the presence of duplicate terms, the clarification of the reasons for their appearance (etymology, semantics, functional-stylistic aspect) and the need to clearly outline the semantic content of the term and the specifics of its use in order to avoid incorrect word usage. A register of basic terms of Turkish lexicography has been determined, which covers both specific Turkish terminology and borrowed terminological units (Greekisms, Arabisms, Anglicisms, etc.), which, in turn, is designed to systematize the collected data. The structural features of lexicographic terms (one-component, two-component, multi-component, etc.), the part-of-speech affiliation of components, word-formations (formants, verbal nouns, etc.) and grammatical features (the different types of the izafet) are described. A detailed thematic classification of terms was carried out, which contributed to both the identification of synonymous series and the establishment of the general structure of this terminological system of the Turkish language. Typical contexts of the use of lexicographic terms were established (high-frequency term combinations, combinations of terms with appropriate attributes). Ukrainian equivalents were given in order to prevent possible errors in translation and in the process of teaching this material. Future directions of research and their prospects were outlined.
